Honey Myrtle (Melaleuca teretifolia) is my favourite Australian essential oil. It is highly fragrant with a sweet, honey, lemon aroma. Honey Myrtle is grown in Western Australia. Its essential oil is sourced from the leaves and branchlets.

Honey Myrtle is used for its relaxing and calming properties that aid in the relief of mental stress. Honey Myrtle also has uplifting, properties which aid with clarity and focus of the mind, plus the relief of pressure in stressful situations.

Rosalina is a fresh lavender variety of Tea Tree which grows in wetland regions of Australia. Rosalina or Melaleuca ericfolia is prized for its fresh aromas and its ability to assist with the release of tension and anxiety, calming, relaxing and aiding sleep. The chemical properties of Rosalina give it analgesic and antiseptic actions which makes Rosalina useful for skin rashes, insect bites, insect repellency and for respiratory conditions.

Fragonia is a recently discovered Australian essential oil from the plant Agonis fragrans. The fresh and pleasant smell of Fragonia makes it popular with perfumers and its aroma has been likened to lavender.

Fragonia essential oil contains 3 types of chemical constituents which are in balance with each other and are believed to contribute the balancing effect of emotions. Fragonia is used by aromatherapists for its anti-depressive properties and is said to be an aid for jet lag, colds and flu (due to its antimicrobial and decongestant actives). Fragonia essential oil also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.

Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatumis) is sourced from trees in Western and South Australia.  Sandalwood essential oil is prized for its earthy aroma. Sandalwood has grounding, de-stressing, relaxing, and soothing abilities. Sandalwood assists with mental clarity whilst stilling the mind. Traditionally sandalwood has been used by indigenous people for its antiseptic properties and today is used to treat acne and other inflammatory skin disorders.
